Friday night saw, arguably, the best 16 players in our league this season descend on the Unionist Club, to do battle for the right to be the 2011-12 Super League Singles Champion. As befitting the competition's title the standard of darts played by all the finalists was excellent. Around ten maximums were hit along with probably 3 times that number of 140’s and several ton+ finishes made for a memorable evening. The Tyndale Sports Club ‘A’ were represented by no fewer than three of the four semi-finalists along with D.Ryder of the Lion & Lamb. Dale Telfer was the first to reach the Final beating Derek Ryder followed by Ricky McNamee who ended the hopes of his team mate John Dodd. This set the scene for what everyone expected would be a scintillating final between these two and we were not disappointed. With nothing to choose between the pair Ricky ran out the winner by the odd leg in 5. One more hurdle successfully negotiated in Ricky’s chance of a clean sweep of trophies. Thanks to all those who marked boards, with a special mention for Andy Ballantyne.
